Pharmaserve (North West) Limited, a pharmaceutical manufacturing company based in Runcorn, Cheshire, recently contacted TNS, an IT services provider, to modify their IT network and infrastructure in order to meet stringent pharmaceutical regulations. After consultations with Pharmaserve’s senior managers, TNS produced a detailed phased plan to upgrade the company’s IT systems. It was agreed that a Nexans CAT6 solution would be installed to support VoIP and video-on-demand services required by the business. The project was broken down into three main phases:
- Installation of a new communications room, security services, and 764 data points in the main plant.
- Refurbishment of IT services within the laboratories.
- Relocation of IT services through the new communications room.
Throughout the installation and modification process, TNS engineers had to coordinate closely with other contractors and Pharmaserve’s plant staff, as certain areas required 24/7 coverage. All tasks were carried out in a professional and diligent manner, minimizing disruption to Pharmaserve’s workforce. The entire project took 5.5 months to complete. Pharmaserve’s IT Manager, Danny, was very satisfied with the technical support and expertise provided by TNS. The new IT infrastructure has significantly improved the way Pharmaserve operates as an organization.
